The Boot Route is being organised by the Countesthorpe Events Committee. We are not part of the Parish Council, we are a Community Group of volunteers who all live in the village.
We wanted to bring events to the village as a way of bringing the community together but also as the event builds momentum a way of raising money for community projects in the village. For instance The Cosby Yarn Bomb raised money towards a sensory room at Cosby Primary School in 2021. We would like to be able to do the same here in Countesthorpe!
If you would like to suggest a community project please get in touch using the form below.
On 26th September 2021, the first Boot Route took place in Countesthorpe. This saw 22 decorated car boots and house fronts across the village as well as other activities running at various locations. This included local businesses in the Village Hall, Charity Stalls on The Centenary Paddock and many activities for people of all ages to enjoy including story time sessions (with Reach Education and Well Being), make your own ukulele (with TUBUP Utterly Butterly Project), a fun fair, home made cakes from the WI and crafts run by our Team.
The event raised almost £2000 for all the charities and Burbage Charity Bikes gave 13 bikes and 5 scooters new homes!
If you would like to join our group please get in touch we would love to have you on our Team!
