The Boot Route Countesthorpe 2021

On 26th September 2021, the first Boot Route took place in Countesthorpe. This saw 22 decorated car boots and house fronts across the village as well as other activities running at various locations.

All entrants showed creativity to the theme of a 'Magical Land' and looked amazing. Entries included a Teddy Bears Picnic, Hogwarts, and the Emerald City from the Wizard of Oz.

During the event there was various activities running across the village . Countesthorpe Academy created a beautiful wishing tree and beach scene and many Leicestershire based charities joined the event with stalls on the Centenary Paddock.  We were also joined by a number of local businesses in the Village Hall.

We had many activities for people of all ages to enjoy including story time sessions (with Reach Education and Well Being), make your own ukulele (with TUBUP Utterly Butterly Project), a fun fair, home made cakes from the WI and crafts run by our Team.

We also decorated a number of green spaces around the village, one of which included Willy Wonka Trees with fantastic sweets created by local children and a fairy village made by children from two local nurseries and pre-schools.

The event raised almost £2000 for all the charities and Burbage Charity Bikes gave 13 bikes and 5 scooters new homes!
