Frequently Asked
Questions

What is the Boot Route?
The Boot Route Countesthorpe is a spin on a scarecrow festival, however instead of creating a scarecrow you decorate the inside (and outside if you wish) of your car boot or decorate your front garden or a window to compete for Best Display! A trail will be created for people to then follow around the village to see all the fantastic creations. You can also compete as a road/street with an inter connecting theme for all the boots. The theme for the event is "A Magical Land". You do not have to stand outside with your display, if you have plans you could always opt for a window or garden display and would still be eligible to win the competition. It is not a car boot sale, it is a similar event to The Desford Scarecrow Festival and Cosby Yarn Bomb which many of the village have enjoyed attending recently.
What are the prizes?
We are currently looking for prizes for The Boot Route 2022. If you are able to donate a prize please get in touch via our email: countesthorpecec@hotmail.com
Previous years we have prizes such as days out at local attractions such as Windmill Farm and Blaby Golf Course, hampers, gift vouchers, even a free MOT!
Who is organising The Boot Route?
The Boot Route is being organised by the Countesthorpe Events Committee. We are not part of the Parish Council, we are a Community Group of volunteers who all live in the village. We wanted to bring events to the village as a way of bringing the community together but also as the event builds momentum a way of raising money for community projects in the village. For instance The Cosby Yarn Bomb is raising money for a sensory room at Cosby Primary School. We would like to be able to do the same here in Countesthorpe!
How do I enter The Boot Route Trail?
There is an online entry form available on our website, click her to view.
Can I bring my dog?
We welcome well-behaved dogs which are used to crowds and on a lead. There are dog waste bins around the village so please do clear up after your dog.
